I said it before. This car needs to race in DTM. Just like the Cadillac ATS coupe needs to. Why? Because Germans don't expect brands from other countries to join their little private party, that's why. Remember when Alfa joined the DTM and got all those sarcastic smiles from BMW and Mercedes? How Alfa responded to those? It kicked the asses of BMW and Mercedes, that's how.

The Q60 coupe. D'oh. You know, Q50 without two doors.
It's not like the first picture of it hit all the car websites of the world, yesterday...
And I found more pictures of it, this morning, obviously.

I don't read car websites......
ok I do at work but I had the day off yesterday :) Looks like a concept, hope they fix a few of the styling cues before production... the trunk, the taillights, I dig the front though. It all looks kind of 4x4 to me, maybe it just needs an aero package

This is the first Infiniti I've ever come across that I've in any sense desired to own—it is quite the looker. Now, as I've never actually seen an Infiniti - of any variety - in person, I doubt I'll ever see this one in the wild... And this is the first time such a doubt has left me regretful.

It is a concept, but Shiro Nakamura said that this car is about 90% production ready. I'm expecting to see the production car, unveiled at Geneva, as Infiniti is more interested to build an image in Europe, nowadays.
Unless they unveil the Q30 in Geneva, having to leave the Q60 for one of the American shows(Chicago or New York), as I doubt they will wait for the Tokyo show, in the 4th quarter.

Well, you can always, you know, go check your local dealer. And you will see the Q50 in the BTCC. In fact, like I said before, that's a great way for Infiniti to promote its cars - touring car racing. The F1 thing is nice, but people over in Europe, need to see as many Infinitis(and Cadillac(because Cadillac has the same problem)) as possible. If they add the DTM Q60 and the WTCC Q30, to the BTCC Q50, they would get a lot more interest, as those series actually promote the car, rather than the brand.

Don't worry, they will. You will see so many new Infinitis in the near future, that you will ask where are all those things coming from? I just hope they are still following JN's plans, because that guy knows what he's doing.

Sadly, my 'local' dealership's two hours' drive away, and I doubt they'd give me a test drive, even if I were to make the trip. The saloon Q50 doesn't really do all that much for me, I'm afraid.
I agree that it'd be wise of them to expand their touring car operations. It's good advertising for the specific car, as you say, and there are few surer paths to legitimacy among European car enthusiasts than a strong presence in motorsport.
